What’s New & Queer on TV #21: The Copenhagen Test, Time Flies
Ending 2025 and starting 2026 strong with lesbian representation on TV. An older couple in The Copenhagen Test and an ex-con lesbian in Time Flies
Welcome to the weekly post where I discuss new additions to my 2025 & 2026 queer streaming guides.

Disclaimer: All the shows listed below came out about one month ago because I've noticed that's how long it usually takes me to be able to confidently verify whether a show has queer representation. I'm not able to watch everything, but I'll only include shows that have proven queer characters as verified online through reputable sources.
The Copenhagen Test • Season 1

Peacock • Spy Thriller • 🇺🇸 United States • Fate Unknown
Queer-o-meter: 🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈
Type of queer representation: Older lesbian couple (secondary characters)
The show features a cute and important queer relationship between the powerful director, St. George, and her wife, Kate. It's pretty rare to see older queer couples, so this definitely is welcome representation. They are introduced in episode 3 in a touching scene where St. George interacts with Kate in their house, and we slowly realize that Kate has dementia.
I'm liking the show so far. I have no idea who to trust and who is manipulating who. Some people seem to think it's too slow and drags on, but I'm not feeling it within the first 3 episodes.

Time Flies • Season 1

Netflix • Crime Dramedy • 🇦🇷 Argentina • Ended
Queer-o-meter: 🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈
Type of queer representation: Lesbian (lead character)
One of the two leads, La Manca, is a lesbian ex-convict whose identity is a key part of her survival and resilience. She uses her sexuality to try, and extract information from a housekeeper in one of the episodes, but it doesn't seem to be a central plot point other than that.
