What’s New in Queer TV #7: Love Thy Nader & KPopped
Sister TV reality featuring a bisexual woman exploring dating in NYC | Queer Western celebs getting their songs KPopped
Welcome to the weekly post where I discuss new additions to my 2025 queer streaming guide.

Disclaimer: All the shows listed below came out about one month ago because I've noticed that's how long it usually takes me to be able to confidently verify whether a show has queer representation. I'm not able to watch everything, but I'll only include shows that have proven queer characters as verified online through reputable sources.
Love Thy Nader • Season 1

Queer-o-meter: 🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈
This is a reality show following four sisters as they move from Louisiana to the Big Apple. One of the sisters, Sarah Jane, identifies as queer, and a lot of her storyline apparently revolves around her identity and her dating journey in New York City. The Nader family also has Lebanese roots, which makes for an interesting intersection with Sarah Jane's sexuality.
My thoughts on it: It's honestly way too rare to see bisexual/queer women explore dating on these types of reality shows. As a lover of everything reality, from housewives to Below Deck, I have high hopes for this one. It's also fun to see how younger generations (I'm a millennial) navigate their sexual orientation.

KPopped • Season 1

Queer-o-meter: 🏳️🌈
The K-Pop music competition show features several openly queer Western celebrities, including Mel B, Kesha, Boy George, and Jess Glynne. Their sexuality doesn't really play a role in the show.
My thoughts on it: I'm not big into K-pop, so this show wasn't on my radar. Reviews are pretty split between people who liked the concept of remixing Western music with K-pop vibes and people who think the K-pop artists weren't given enough spotlight. If anything, it's an opportunity to watch a mini Spice Girls reunion!
