Welcome to the weekly post where I discuss new additions to my 2025 queer streaming guide.

Disclaimer: All the shows listed below came out about one month ago because I've noticed that's how long it usually takes me to be able to confidently verify whether a show has queer representation. I'm not able to watch everything, but I'll only include shows that have proven queer characters as verified online through reputable sources.
Unspeakable Sins • Season 1
Queer-o-meter: 🚩
There is a central gay plot, but it revolves around a wife working with a male escort to trap her closeted gay husband and use his gay sexcapades as leverage. If the wife sounds awful, Claudio, the husband, actually sounds worse from the synopsis. He's abusive to his wife and equally horrible to his son. The show sounds like a typical soap opera with much exaggerated drama and stereotypes.
My thoughts on it: I'm not usually into this type of show, so I will probably never watch it. Based on the descriptions I've seen, it doesn't sound like great queer representation. The only reason it's in the plot is as revenge from the wife on her shitty husband, and the male escort isn't even gay himself. Please prove me wrong if you've seen and enjoy the show but it sounds like a skip to me.
I also write a weekly newsletter on Substack, sharing pop culture news and a round-up of new shows (queer and not) I've watched during the week. You can see examples of some of my posts throughout this guide 😃
